During September 16-19 of 2002, Dr. Xin Li   gave a 1-hour invited talk at the 25th National Congress of Applied and Computational Mathematics of Brazil   in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The title of his talk was: Various Forms of the Frequency Analysis Problem and Its Numerical Solutions .

During August 25-30 of 2002, Dr. Cynthia Y. Young   gave an invited talk at Internation Commission on Optics in Florence, Italy. The title of her talk was: Recent Advances in Modeling of Laser Propagation through the Earth's Atmosphere.

During August 17-22 of 2002, Dr. S. Roy Choudhury   gave an invited talk at the Workshop on Solitons, Collapses and Turbulence at the Landau Institute, Moscow, Russia. The title of his talk was: Integrability Characteristics and Coherent Structures of (2+1) NLS Systems.

During August 14-17 of 2002, Dr. Arthur A. Danielyan   gave an invited talk at a Satellite Conference of ICM 2002: Complex Analysis in Shanghai, China. The title of his talk was: On the Boundary Behavior of Analytic Functions .

During August 11-17 of 2002, Dr. Alexander Katsevich   gave an invited talk at Mathematical Methods in Tomography Conference in Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut, Oberwolfach, Germany. The title of his talk was: A Theoretically Exact Filtered Back Projection Algorithm for Apiral Cone Beam Tomography.

In the summer of 2002, Dr. Jian-Jian Ren   received a 3-year research grant from National Science Foundation . Her project title is: Weighted Empirical Likelihood.

During July 14-19 of 2002, Dr. Robert C. Brigham   gave an invited talk at Workshop on Edge Labelings of Graphs at DIMACS, Rutgers University. The title of his talk was: On the Additive Bandwidth of a Graph.

In the summer of 2002, Dr. Alexander Tovbis   received a 3-year research grant from National Science Foundation. His project title is: Asymptotic Methods for Singularity Perturbed Nonlinear Systems.

In the summer of 2002, Dr. Constance Schober   received a 3-year research grant from National Science Foundation. Her project title is: Dynamical Systems Methods and Geometric Integrators for Nonlinear Wave Equations.

During July 12-21 of 2002, Dr. Degang Han   gave a 1-hour invited talk at The SUMIRFAS conference on Frames, Wavelets and Operator Theory in College Station, TX. The title of his talk was: Operator Algebras and Gabor Frames in High Dimension.

During May 22-26 of 2002, Dr. Degang Han   gave a 30-min. invited talk at The GPOTS Operator Theory Conference in Charlotte, NC. The title of his talk was: Operator Parametrization and Approximation for Time-Frequency Frames.

During May 16-18 of 2002, Dr. Y. Nick Zhao   gave an invited talk at The 15th Cumberland Conference on Combinatorics, Graph Theory, and Computing in Oxford, Mississippi. The title of his talk was: On d-distance Colorings of Plane Graphs.

In April of 2002, Dr. Y. Nick Zhao   received a 2-year Young Investigator Research Grant from National Security Agency. His project title is: Further Investigations on the Discharging Method in Graph Theory.

In April of 2002, Dr. Constance Schober   gave an invited talk at ICCS 2002 in Amsterdam, The Netherland. The title of her talk was: Multisymplectic Spectral Methods for the Gross-Pitaevski Equation.
