ATTENDANCE POLICY This is not a web course, though it can be done using your home computer with an internet connection. If you choose to do the course from home, you are still responsible for checking with your instructor for any important messages and you must do all exams in MAP110 on the scheduled days. A broken home computer is not an excuse for not completing the course as the lab in MAP110 is available during your scheduled time. The lab is provided to those without computers or internet access for completing the course. You may use the lab at any time it is open except during exams or other scheduled activities

HOMEWORK Evaluates: These are quizzes you will do from the software. When you have completed each section of the course you should do the evaluate quiz. You will get automatic feedback on your grade and the correct solutions after you complete each evaluate. You have two tries for each one and your highest grade is used. If you like, you may use the pretest or the practice test in the PAN to practice for your evaluate quiz. There are a total of 12 of these evaluates. You should complete the first attempt at an evaluate by the dates shown on the schedule. Doing this gives you up to 5% of your grade and also helps you to keep up in the class. You must complete all evaluates by midnight on the last day of classes.Homework: When you complete a session working with Academic Systems, you will automatically be assigned homework from the PAN. Even though homework doesn't count, it is a good idea to do the problems as these type of problems might be on exams.
|
TESTS There will be four one hour exams during the semester. The exams are weighted about 50% multiple choice and 50% free response questions. The dates are given on the attached schedule. Sample tests are available at the web site. Doing the sample tests and homework is a good way to prepare for these exams. All exams take place in MAP110. Bring your calculator and your student ID to all exams.
