Conference Description

The focus of this conference is on the recent development of the modelling of wave propagation in media, especially those with microstructure, and the corresponding inverse problems for recovering physical quantities and micro-architectural information from measurement data. The aim is to address the new challenge these problems pose in mathematical analysis and numerical computation and to discuss potential ways of attacking these new problems. This conference is dedicated to Prof. Robert Gilbert for his life long contribution on mathematical analysis and on acoustics.
